We have our final home dual meet of the season this WEDNESDAY 4/15 against Mt Carmel. If you are available, please sign up here to volunteer!

On Wednesday April 1st at the beginning of practice, we launched our Vertical Raise Fundraiser! Athletes were asked to bring 20 emails and 10 phone numbers of adults in their lives (NOT PARENTS/GUARDIANS or RB COACHES/TEACHERS) that might be open and able to help us reach our goals! Vertical Raise's streamlined online platform allows us to raise funds digitally through email, text & social media. Through these mediums, supporters can visit our fundraiser page and help support our cause. Click here for the Parent/Family Letter with more information! If your athlete has not yet done this, it is REQUIRED and athletes who do not participate may be held out of our next meet.

Athletes of the Meet

Each week, we will highlight Athletes of the Meet for the prior weeks meet(s). These athletes are selected by their respective event coaches for their performance at the meet. Athletes who had break out performances, big PRs, pulled off something big for the team score, great sportsmanship, etc. We want to take the time to highlight a couple of athletes who had spectacular performances at our dual meet against Otay Ranch and The Falcon Relays Invitational.

Arcadia Highlights:

  • Riley Biddle set a huge lifetime best in the 3200, shaving 12 seconds off of her previous best, proving all of the hard work and dedication she has been putting in!

  • Boys 4×1 set a seasons best mark, good for a first place finish in their heat and currently ranked 2nd in San Diego.

Poway Dual Meet

Long/Triple Jump -

  • Johnny Tayebati PR’d by almost a full foot in triple jump and hit his personal season goal! Johnny has improved 3 feet from last season and he still has time to go bigger!

  • Layla Idoui hit her PR and went over 30 for the first time. PRs for varsity kids and seniors can be challenging and watching Layla hit hers brought a lot of joy!

  • Giani Darden was so patient on waiting out her sit period and trusting in us to try triple jump as a new event. She crushed it and is already top 3 all time after her first meet. We can’t wait to see what she does this week as she gets two chances to improve on her mark.

Sprints -

  • Miles De La Cruz with an 11.5 season opener in the 100 into a strong 2.0 headwind.

  • Kiana Gaudi and Skylar Koustmer both with big PRs in the 400 running 65 for the first time!

Distance -

  • Ishveer Singh, Jacob Stoffers, Benji Mascayano and Lukasz Odwasny all set double PRs yesterday, with Jacob breaking the 5 min mile barrier that he's been chasing for years!

  • Riley DeBois after a long time right on the edge, she finally broke 2:30 in the 800.

Vault

  • Austin Torres had a SEVEN time PR finishing 9’ 9” from his previous best of 6’7'“!

Our Next Meet

This week we have our last home dual meet of the season against Mt Carmel. It will also be SENIOR NIGHT! We will celebrate our seniors after the end of the meet. The top 3 athletes in each event score points (1st - 5 points, 2nd-3 points, 3rd-1 point). It is crucial that athletes are giving their best effort in all events they are competing in and communicating with their coach if anything comes up. More info on this week’s dual meet here.

This weekend we have 2 invitationals. Most of our team will be heading up to Valley Center Saturday morning for The Jaguar Invite, more info on that here. A limited team will be going up north to The Mt Sac Relays at Mt San Antonio College. More info on Mt Sac here.

We are asking for a $300 parent donation to help offset our team costs.  As always Athlete's are not required to "pay to play", however, this $300 donation would help cover essential program costs.  If you are able to donate you can do so in a variety of ways. See more info on our Donation Page

Donate your used spikes to a Bronco in need!

  • If your athlete has spikes (competition shoes) from a past season that are in decent condition, they can use them again. If they are getting new spikes and don’t need their old ones, feel free to bring them to practice and we can share them with another Bronco in need! Once your athlete gets their spikes, have them show their coach before wearing them at practice. We can help navigate each athletes needs.
